Manufactured by 5 generations of the same family, and based on a secret and proprietary recipe, Underberg has been made to the same recipe since it’s debut in 1846; extracts of 43 botanical ingredients are matured for months in Slovenian oak barrels before bottling. The most famous of all kräuterlikörs (Germany’s version of Italy’s amari), Underberg is typically consumed neat, as a digestif, and its bracing herbal, spice, and wormwood flavor profile does wonders to settle the stomach.
