Garliki
Pure Umami Magic

Garliki didn’t start with a business plan or a slick marketing strategy—it started with two guys in a backyard, lamenting the sad state of store-bought garlic. Chris and Jason, both seasoned veterans of the fermentation world, met a decade ago on the production floor at Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider and bonded over a love of fermentation and a deep appreciation for unconventional flavors. After their time at Nat’s, Chris took his expertise global, making cider in the UK and Africa before launching his own cider and ginger beer company, while Jason dove into the beer world, helping breweries fine-tune their branding while crisscrossing the country.
Through it all, their shared love of craft, collaboration, and community remained a constant, and after spending years steeped in cider, beer, wine, and kombucha, they knew fermentation could elevate just about anything, so why not garlic? Tired of peeling and mincing cloves for every meal, and wholly unimpressed by the sad, lifeless “jarlic” at the supermarket, they started experimenting.

What began as a few crocks and jars quickly escalated into a full-blown obsession. They tried everything—wild beer yeast, sausage cultures, anything that might coax garlic into its best self. When the first truly great batch emerged, they knew they were onto something. But good things take time, and over the next two years, they refined their process, consulting scientists, fine-tuning techniques, and scaling up from homebrew experiments to something ready for prime time.
It’s a jar full of flavor, fermentation magic, and a little bit of rebellion against the bland.

Garliki is the result of years of trial, error, and a stubborn refusal to accept mediocre garlic. It’s a jar full of flavor, fermentation magic, and a little bit of rebellion against the bland. Perfect for cooks who want depth, umami, and a little extra something without the hassle. The road to Garliki was long, winding, and full of good drinks, great friends, and a whole lot of garlic—but it was absolutely worth it.
