Brent Braun and Jordan Sowers have teamed to offer a new perspective on the classic negociant model with their label Post Familiar, working with local winemakers in an effort "to foster creative approaches to the production of sustainable, natural wines" that blur every boundary in the book. This release, a study in contrasts made with Portland's Bow + Arrow, combines oxidative Chardonnay with direct-press Melon de Bourgogne for a bright & zippy wine balanced with undertones of baked yellow apples and hazelnuts. A head-spinner worth savoring.
