Payal Parekh Bugbee was born in Mumbai, studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and spent a decade in New York City's fashion world before moving to Portland.  As a child in India, Payal grew up observing the work of her father Bharat Parekh, a self-taught textile designer & manufacturer of premium fine-printed silks and woven linens. With Parekh Bugbee, Payal continues her family tradition of melding time-honored customs with modern sensibilities by offering a selection of handcrafted table linens and kitchen towels crafted from the highest quality organic cottons & linens. She works with her father's network of craftspeople, and each item is traditionally handmade by a flourishing rural Indian community.
