We’re noted fans of Jess Miller, aka Little Crow Vit, and Isabel Newlin, aka Dacha Wines, two women currently making some of the most intriguing wines in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Dedicated vignerons both—meaning that in addition to making the wine, they are also literally hands-on farmers, doing all vineyard work meticulously themselves—their aligned approach has led, for the second year in a row, to one of our favorite bottles of bubbles. Comprised of muscat, pinot noir, and chardonnay, Natural Gas (a cheeky name for a cheeky wine) is all fresh lemon curd and spritzy green apple, a low-ABV wine perfect for celebrations, sure, but also at home on the brunch table, or sitting around a fireplace at this winter, waiting for the sun to re-emerge and shine on us all.
