4th Annual Tomato Fest

Saturday, September 14th, 2023
11am - 3pm
3402 SE Division St. Portland, OR 97202

Way back in 2020, we got together with our pals at the Culinary Breeding Network and hatched a plan: bring together a group of plant breeders, research scientists, farmers, and chefs to celebrate one of our favorite summer treats. The goal was three-fold: help spread the word about climate friendly dry-farming techniques being put into practice right here in the Willamette Valley, solicit public feedback about which dry-farmed tomato varieties taste the best, and (most importantly) eat some delicious tomatoes! It was such a success we’ve done it every year since, and our 4th Annual is shaping up to be the best yet.

We’ve got our old pals Lauretta Jean’s (making exclusive tomato treats!) and Wild Roots Farm (selling big ol’ heirloom tomatoes!) joining us again, PLUS cult-fave Astiana saucing tomatoes from the brand new Brass Tacks Farm! Plant breeder Jim Meyers will be there with tomato tastings and OSU’s Dry Farming Project will be available to answer all your dry farming questions. On top of that, we’ll be making micheladas (available NA!) and slinging our once-a-year BLTs, and boundary-pushing natural winery The Marigny will be on hand pouring a selection of their minimal-intervention Willamette Valley wines! Do not miss the best party of the summer!
