Made by hand in small batches in Los Angeles, Zab's relies on the sweet heat and slow burn of the mysterious Datil Pepper for both its Original and St. Augustine-style hot sauces. Grown and hand-picked exclusively in St. Augustine, Florida, the Datil's origins are hotly debated, with some folks suggesting it migrated up from Chile, while others point to the Spanish island of Minorca, and still others noting its similarity to African varieties. Wherever it comes from, one thing we know for certain: it's delicious. The Original version is Zab's take on a classic vinegar-based hot sauce, and includes carrots, turmeric, and black pepper. We like it on everything from scrambled eggs to sandwiches.
