A bright & fresh field blend comprising 70% Pinot Gris, 15% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay & 5% Niagara, Flower Work is the first release from promising young winemaker Jordan Frederickson. A native Oregonian, Jordan spent time working under Jess Hereth of Stick Figurine and Olympia Provision before moving to Fossil & Fawn and learning the ropes from Jenny & Jim and the rest of the No Clos Radio crew (this is, in our estimation, an unimpeachable resume). In 2021, she inherited a single Willamette Valley acre planted with mixed varietals and abundantly covered in wildflowers; she dove in headfirst, and Flower Work is the truly delightful result. All grapes are direct press to stainless steel tank and left on the lees for a month, with a kiss of sulfur added at bottling. Somewhat counter-intuitively, this undisgorged pet-nat is delightfully zippy, its lifted acid cutting through the typical lees-y creaminess. A truly promising first offering from an exciting new entrant into Oregon's storied wine landscape.
