Grown and hand-picked exclusively in St. Augustine, Florida, the Datil's origins are hotly debated, with some folks suggesting it migrated up from Chile, while others point to the Spanish island of Minorca, and still others noting its similarity to African varieties. Wherever it comes from, one thing we know for certain: it's delicious. The St. Augustine style pays homage to the sauces popular in its namesake city, and is a touch sweeter than the Original.
