Founded in San Francisco by Korean-Americans Clara Lee and Eddo Kim, Queens Superette is the kind of neighborhood shop dreams are made of. Inspired by the “immigrant grocery stores” run by their parents and uncles, Queens offers an array of locally-sourced, house-produced banchan, Korean grab-n-go classics like bulgogi, buckwheat noodles, and kimchi. This mushroom salt is made from California-grown shiitakes that are dried in-house before being pulverized and blended with sea salt. Try it sprinkled over noodles, rice, and popcorn (!), or incorporate into marinades for a concentrated blast of umami goodness.
