Poiré DomfrontProduced by Domaine PacoryNormandy - France
Made in Normandy for hundreds of years, Poiré Domfront is unique in that it is made from cider-specific pear varieties grown only in the commune of Domfront, in northwest France. In fact, perries (called poiré in French) from this region must contain at least 40% Plant de Blanc, a unique, local, high-acid pear. Rather than being picked, the fruit is left to mature on the tree and fall off naturally; the pears are then transferred to wooden crates where they are left to age for another month before being pressed. Fermentation happens naturally, and the resulting poiré is clean, fresh, off-dry, and clocks in at a day-drinking friendly 5% abv.
