Near the tiny alpine village of Trento, 4th generation winemaker Matteo Furlani works his high-altitude sites using organic and biodynamic principles. His wines are vinted without additions of any kind, and rely on the ambient mountain temperatures to control fermentation. His Amaro is based on a historical recipe from the area, and blends white wines from Cantina Furlani with an infusion of blood orange, rhubarb, wormwood and gentian as well as various alpine herbs. Restorative as an after-dinner digestif, and plays well in cocktails, especially with aged spirits like rum, whisky, and brandy.
