You had me at “Chilean pet-nat!” Working his family-owned vineyard dating to 1776, Manuel Moraga’s lively sparkler uses mostly Moscatel grapes from 100+ year-old vines to create this concentrated, aromatic wine. Tropical flavors dominate; we’ve got guava and mango and floral aromatics everywhere, with soft bubbles and an intriguing, creamy texture. Try this as an aperitif with soft-ripened cheese, or alongside assertively-flavored main dishes from South- and South-East Asia. A word of caution: when we say ‘lively,’ we mean it: chill this wine thoroughly and open in the sink to ensure a mess-free drinking experience.
